“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message

is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17 (NIV)

Why not give God an extra hour?  You already spend one hour at church each Sunday morning for a worship service, why not join us for a second hour to further expand your spiritual journey?  We have different courses for different age groups.  Each group uses a different curriculum.  There is a place for everyone to fit in.  Give God one extra hour each week to share, explore, fellowship and learn.  Join us as we prepare ourselves to take God’s love into the world.

SUNDAY MORNING CLASSES: 9:30 to 10:30

FAITH & FAMILY CLASS: meets in Room 214.   The Faith & Family Sunday School class consists of a group of parents who have children ranging from 2-years-old to 12-years-old.  Our class aims to help parents learn more about raising their children through Christian guidance.  At the same time, the class provides a nurturing environment where parents can learn from, and fellowship with, one another.  This class is discussion-oriented, and includes book and video studies.  The leader is Maggie Brock.

FELLOWSHIP CLASS: meets in Room 212.  The Fellowship Sunday School class is a group of couples and singles, age 40 and beyond, who gather each Sunday morning.  We believe the Bible is God’s word to us and we need to know what it says.  The class enjoys a discussion format of issues related to living the Christian adult life in today’s contemporary society, from a Biblical perspective.  Although led primarily by two lay pastors, we like to spread the fun around, so other class members may volunteer to lead on occasion.  As Matthew 18:20 tells us, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  The leader is Chuck Olson.

REID CLASS: meets in Room 210.  This group of adults uses the Present Word curriculum from the Uniform International Lessons as they study the Bible together.  This lecture/discussion-based class welcomes anyone who is looking for a traditional approach to the study of the Bible.

DISCIPLES UNDER CONSTRUCTION (DUCs) CLASS
– meets most Sundays in Room 212.  DUCS is an evangelical program with Christian Education as a component.  This group seeks God's will daily and opens themselves to the Holy Spirit's sanctifying power. This class participates in community outreach as a response to the transforming mercies of God.  Ken Coker is the class facilitator.

YOUTH CLASSES:

TWEEN CLASS: meets in Room 209.  The Tweens Sunday School class consists of 5th through 8th grade students.  Our class strives to find ways to make scripture relevant to our daily lives.  This includes book/author studies, video/music reviews and challenging what we think we know about the Bible.  We do this through class discussions, multi-media use, Bible study, and fellowship.  Steve Heaton is the teacher for this class.

SENIOR HIGH CLASS: meets in Room 205  (the Youth Lounge).  The high school class consists of 9th through 12th grade students.  This class studies the Bible and learns about God’s expectations in today’s world.  This is an interactive class using multi-media materials and class discussion.  Michael Stoker is the teacher for this class.

CHILDREN'S CLASSES:

SONSHINE CLASS: meets on the first floor in Room 101, which is by the Sanctuary.  This class is for 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old children who have not started kindergarten.  The curriculum used in this class is from Gospel Light and has many hands-on activities to reinforce the Bible lesson.

ELEMENTARY GRADES: meets in Room 208 (grades K-1) and Room 213 (grades 2-4).  These classes are learning about God and Jesus and what God expects us to do in our life.  We are studying the Bible and learning about men and women God has used and are examples for all of us.  The children are encouraged to bring their Bibles every Sunday along with their prayer journals.  One emphasis is daily prayer for the people and countries on our prayer list.  This is to encourage the practice of daily time spent with God in prayer that will hopefully become a life-long habit.  Keith Dove and Donna Przybys lead the K-1 class, and Kellie Coker, Susan Jordan, and Katie and Spanky Raines lead the 2-4 class.

OTHER CHRISTIAN GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES:

BIBLE STUDIES: Pastor Brian teaches seasonal Bible- and theme-based studies.  These classes are held in Room 111.  Morning and evening classes are made available to accommodate attendees’ schedules.    Classes are advertised in both the church bulletin and newsletter.
